The Welsh Super Series consists of six carefully selected events which showcase all that is good about the Sport of Triathlon as well as Wales’ natural ability to host such beautiful, yet challenging events. Although a series, not one event is the same and the challenges faced across the six locations will put pressure on the most experienced of athletes. The events versatility though also provides ample opportunity for newcomers to the sport, as well as regular club competitors and opportunity to participate and go head to head against the Nations best.

The Healthy Life Activities Llanelli Multisport Weekend kicked off the inaugural Welsh Super Series in some style last weekend and showcased all that is good about Multi-Sport. More info here

What’s this? A Club Series Award?

That’s right! To enforce Welsh Triathlon’s commitment of engaging with its clubs and build upon the National Club Relay Championship and Bala Team Relay event for 2018, a club competition will be introduced to the series.

At each event, the five highest scores from each club will be accumulated and put in a league table. five males, five females, it doesn’t matter. The five highest scores in your club colours, whatever the gender make up and age group split, will act as your clubs score for that event and be added to the league table.

These scores though will be split across age category, so your highest point contributor might be the highest finishing individual in a 60+ category, but way down the field within the overall race.

Currently Celtic Tri are leading the table and there is prize money to be had !!!

1st – £500, 2nd – £300 and 3rd – £100

The next Welsh Super Series race which is also in the club championships and will be race number 4 – Mikes Bikes Pembrokeshire Coast Tri Entries may still be available.

I’ve heard that it’s on TV?

You heard right. Welsh Triathlon are working closely with Dream Team TV to ensure that each of the six stages are captured and presented on both S4C and Channel 4. There’s going to be airings later in the year also on British Eurosport and Sky Sports! This truly is a platform to show the rest of the UK and beyond what our Triathlon Nation has to offer.

The Llanelli event will be televised on S4C on Friday night 9:30pm. Let see how much air time Celtic Tri get!!
