Hi All,
We’ve setup a Strava club for you to join as a way of keeping motivation going during this difficult period. The Strava club is called Covid19-CT, and is for any Celtic Tri club member to join and use to record your challenge activities.

With the current guidelines to continue exercising we are going to use this as a way of maintaining your training and at the same time giving you weekly challenges to aim for. There will be prizes for those that complete the challenges.

It’s important for us to be physical activity and maintain our fitness. It helps to maintain positive mental health, reduce stress and keep us healthy.

We want to let you know you are not alone out there and by using this strava club we can have a social element to help keep you motivated too. Commenting on activities and supporting each other, maybe meeting for a small group run while keeping your 2 metre distance

Look forward to seeing you complete these challenges over the coming weeks  🏊‍♂️ 🏊‍♀️ 🚴‍♀️ 🚴‍♂️ 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️

You can join the club here  https://www.strava.com/clubs/Covid19-CT

Once signed up you’ll be able to take part in the challenges. Good luck everyone and stay strong 🙂

CHALLENGE 1

Starting this Saturday 21st March, the first challenge for the week.

Mumbles duathlon was cancelled but some members have trained to take part, so we want you to ride the route and complete the runs in your own time over 6 days. In return for completing the challenge your name will go into a hat and we do a live draw on a Friday night 8pm to see who wins a prize. Simples.

The challenge for week 1 – Mumbles Duathlon

1. Ride Mumbles Duathlon bike loop. You will need to record the short or long distance of the bike route. Starting at Blackpill so you can ride there from Mumbles, Swansea or come down the cycle track to take part.

2. Run or walk 2.5 km, any route, trail or road, hills or flat, you choose

3. Run or walk 5km, any route, trail or road, hills or flat, you choose

All 3 parts of the challenge must be completed by Friday 27th March 6pm, to be in with a chance of going into the prize draw.

It’s all about getting members out of the house and focusing on the weekly challenge. You  can do it in your own time, or with someone (Remember social distancing).

Its not about being the fastest on the bike or the quickest 5km run it’s all about being active. You will of course get the kudos of being at the top of the leaderboard 😉

This will be for all club members, juniors you will have your own set of challenges.
