Common Injuries

The following links provided via wikipedia give an overview of common injuries which Triathletes may experience:-

Abrasions and Road Rash

Injuries that result from a fall on to the road surface which causes abrasions to skin layers layers of skin to rub off.

Hand Numbness

Symptons include numbness [pins and needles sensation] commonly linked long rides with pressure on the handlebars for a long duration.

Muscle Cramps

A cramp is a sudden, tight and intense pain caused by a muscle locked in spasm.

Osteoarthritis of the Knee

Osteoarthritis is the most common type of arthritis. Condition arises due to gradual wearing away of joint cartilage. Typical symptoms include  pain, swelling, and reduced range in motion of the knee.

Knee Pain

Extremely common in cyclists, and in order to treat the cause it’s important to have an evaluation and proper examination.

Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome

This term usually refers to pain under and around the knee cap It is also called “Runner’s Knee.”
